Eyebrow Waxing – A Beginner’s Guide (2025)

How to Prep

Eyebrow waxing is a quick and easy method of hair removal. A thin layer of warm wax is spread over the unwanted hairs, and a strip is placed over it and then pulled off, removing the hairs along with it.

Before you begin, make sure your client’s skin is clean and free of any makeup or lotions that could irritate it. It’s also important to discuss any medications or skincare products the person may be using that can interfere with the waxing process, like acne medication, especially isotretinoin.

It’s also a good idea to recommend to your client to avoid plucking stray hairs between waxes. Although tempting, it’s straightforward to over-pluck and will cause the brows to look balder and less shapely quickly. It’s always better to let your waxing specialist do the work! Aside from that, you should also inform them that if they’ve recently done any facials or received other cosmetic treatments around the brow area, they should wait at least a few days before getting waxed.

Getting Started

Eyebrow waxing is a fast, safe way to remove unwanted hair. It’s best to see a professional who’s certified in the process. That’s how you can avoid bare patches caused by misplaced wax, scrawny ends, and, in some cases, even burns (not good).

Before starting, mark the desired shape of the eyebrow using powder or an eyebrow pencil. This makes it easy to follow the line and ensure that only the rogue hairs are removed.

The Process
